Women's T-20 Cricket Challenge : Trailblazers team champion for the first time by defeating Supernovas
After a brilliant half-century by skipper Smriti Mandhana, the bowlers' strong performance helped the Trailblazers win the women's T20 Challenge title for the first time. By winning the match by 16 runs, the Trailblazers defeated the two times champion team Supernovas and won Women's T-20 Cricket Challenge.
On Monday, Supernovas decided to bowl first after winning the toss and allowing the Trailblazers to score 118 runs for 8 wickets but their batsmen's performance was disappointing. Supernovas team could score 102 runs for 7 wickets.
Mandhana's captaincy innings
Earlier, Trablezers captain Smriti Mandhana hit a half-century. Player of the match, Smriti Mandhana scored 68 runs in 49 balls which is the best individual innings of the league this season. Mandhana hit 5 fours and 3 sixes during this period. Mandhana shared a partnership of 71 runs in 11.1 overs with Deandra Dottin of the first wicket.
Salma's Spin and Radha's best performance
Spinner Salma Khatun took the most 3 wickets in bowling from the Trailblazers. Deepti Sharma took two and Ecclastne took one wicket.
Supernovas spinner Radha Yadav bowled her career best. She took 5 wickets for just 16 runs in 4 overs and this was the best bowling in the history of this league apart from his career.
